We recognize the Truth the way we recognize our reflection in the mirror whenever we see it - for it is in the Heart.
The Way of the Wolf is the way I was introduced to by a series of signs and synchronicities that, little by little, led me to the study of true philosophy, ancient metaphysics and esoteric symbolism. From Pagan rites to Christian rituals, from the Vedas to the Tao, from the Bhagavad Gita to the Holy Quran, the aim has always been and will always remain the same: Liberation.
As true as the Moon reflects the Light that comes from the Sun, Man has to become the reflection of the Absolute by remembering who He is. Re-membering and identifying with - the Transcendent Self. It should come as no surprise if the words "moon", "mental" and "man" all share the same etymological roots, and one may also wonder at the close proximity between Diana, goddess of the Moon, and the Sanscrit word "Dhyana" (meditation, concentration), which later became "zen".
We have to give birth to the Light in us - the one at the center, hence the necessity for con-centration - and let it shine as much as possible so that others may benefit from it - and if they won't, let them live in the shadow until they realize it is but the absence of Light. We must become beacons in an ocean of darkness - and now is undeniably a time of overwhelming obscurity. What some call the Kali Yuga or the Iron Age.
But what does the Wolf have to do with any of this, you may ask? And so I did, until an almost fatal - but completely fateful - incident a few years ago. What matters here is not what happened to me as an individual, though, but what the Wolf represents and what it seems to have represented for our forefathers for millenia.
When one knows that the words "wolf" and "vulva" are related, the reason for which Remus and Romulus, the founders of Rome, were said to have been raised by a she-wolf suddenly starts making a little more sense. Should we then assume that the wolf was not only seen as a symbol for Death, but also as a symbol for Life? After all, a mother, when giving birth, also condemns her child to die. In French, the word for "wolf" is "loup", which comes from the Greek "lúkos", a word that is very close to "lúkē" ("lux", in Latin), which means light and is the origin of the French word "lycée" (high school). In other words, let's study!
There is a Wolf in each of us, waiting to be set free for you to be reborn. But how does one free the Wolf? By forgetting all you think you know, all the fictions in which you imprison yourself and your very beliefs themselves, the worst of which being your ego. For you are not your beliefs. And to forget is to remember. That the material world is not Reality. That it is but an imitation of Reality. That your attachment to all things pertaining to the material realm - your Dragon - has to be slain once and for all. Break your ego's shell like an egg and let the One and only Self flow out like water from a waterfall. Know yourself, said Plato, and you shall know the Universe and the Gods. In other words, you have to die to live again. That is the Way for anyone who seeks the Wisdom of the Wolf.
Such is the only Quest worth going on and dying for, dear Adventurer. Now, may the one and only true adventure finally begin...
